It's Friday!

And I've have been sleeping in.  Well I still wake up between 3 and 4 but only stay up for about an hour watching tv shows that have been on my DVR way too long, then I lay next to one of the kids which is an instant sleep aid.  Isn't that crazy, laying next to one of my kids while they're asleep has ALWAYS made me SO SLEEPY!  I LOVE IT!

And today, I slept until 9!  SCORE!!  And I didn't go to sleep late at all last night, I was out by 8:30 pm.  Aside from the sleep break in the very early morning hours, I'm feeling more and more refreshed each day!

Now, we've still been keeping super busy with our summer plans.  I've been really good about packing our lunches and cooking dinner in the crock pot.  This saves me time in the evenings when we're running to swim or ballet or karate!

We've kept to our planned summer calendar, except for this past Wednesday when the kids wanted to veg out all day instead of going for a hike.  I was happy with their decision because let me tell you, I'm exhausted by the time the evenings roll around.  It's draining doing all of these fun things.  HAHA!  No, really, it is!

I've been measuring out my meals using the 21 Day Fix containers.  It's helped.  But I have added some cheese here and there, I don't think it's going to kill me.  As much as I've wanted to workout this week, I've only done the June Ab & Squat Challenge.  Other than that, I've been wanting sleep over workouts.

Next week, I hope to make more time for blogging and want to start rolling out my NEW blog.  I've changed, I'm continuing to change, and think with all this, this little space needs to change.

On Monday, I'll recap for you all this week's fun summer activities and share how we are enjoying summer vacation on a budget!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

When Summer Vacation Consumes You

We've been on Summer Break around here since oh... Thursday at noon!  Yeah, but it's already consumed our whole lives.  I've put together a FUN, FUN, FUN calendar for all of June, July & August to keep us pretty busy!

Being the over planner, over achiever and well, the person that over extends herself on one too many occasions, I'm sure with all the fun I'll be going nuts.  That's just me.  I've come to terms with that.

So now to why last week turned into a hiatus.  Just real life.  Been busy.  I can't believe that my little guy has now completed kindergarten and will be a first grader in August.  Where does the time go??



And this little diva starts transitional kindergarten in the fall.  Yeah, it's kinder for kids who miss the enrollment cutoff.  Her birthday is September 25th and the cutoff is September 1st.  So she'll do one year of transitional and then a year of REGULAR Kinder.  Don't get me started.




I promise to keep around more.  I'm sure you're wondering how the sugar detox went.  Well, let's just say doing an extreme diet or changing the way you eat when you're really stressed about real life is a formula for failure.  I kept my eating as clean as possible but it wasn't something I could follow all day every day, right now.  I'm thinking I'll be doing it maybe towards the end of the summer or when I feel less stressed.

BUT - that doesn't mean workouts are out and eating is crazy.  Today starts the June Ab & Squat Challenge.  You can join the Facebook group or follow along on Instagram.
